This is THE BENITACHELL THAT YOU WANT. The program that we have created between all of us thinking of you. To make it a reality we have to work together. We kindly ask for your support on the 22nd of May.
Our proposals are:
ECONOMY, COMMERCE AND AGRICULTURE
- Internal audit with the purpose of knowing the current financial affairs of the previous Council.
- Study of improvement regarding economic resources and municipal services.
- Clear and efficient management and administration, as well as a strict control of expenses, that will allow us to reduce the huge debt of the Council.
- Regulation and reduction of the administrative rates of the Council (census, birth certificates, cohabitation certificates, etc…)
- Plan of commercial action to motivate entrepreneurs who are looking to launch a business project in the local area.
- Collaboration agreements of work matters with large companies established within the Municipality to prioritize the contracting of citizens of our village.
- Form a register of the unemployed with the aim to create work activity in coordination with the Council.
- Form a Committee to combine services with other Town Councils.
- Promote traditional agriculture and its trade by selling the products direct from the farmer in street markets.
- Bring into operation a Land Register with the objective to rent abandoned land and be used as allotments.
HEALTH
- Study of viability to create a Day Centre and Residence for the elderly to attend the present and future needs of an ever-increasing older population.
- Provide free public transport for the townspeople and urbanizations for traveling to medical centers in the area (Denia Hospital, Teulada Clinic, Calpe …)
- Reevaluate the ambulance service agreement.
TURISM AND FIESTAS
- Creation of a Statute of Fiestas with the collaboration of various associations and municipal collectives, with the objective to improve it in content and form, to invigorate it and make it more participant to all ages.
- Promote tourism.
- New placement of the tourist office in a more strategic point in the village.
- Promote rural tourism by renting out village houses with the support through help, information and publicity from the Council.
- Promote sports, festive and culture events that would attract tourism throughout the year (sport competitions, gatherings, concerts, meetings, fairs and international fairs.)
- Set up a House Museum where we would gather our history and tradition and where we could do various exhibitions.
URBAN DEVELOPMENT
- Give priority to local companies for contractual work and services.
- Rate reduction for buildings license.
- Study and improvement of the town centre to reactivate economic activity.
- Campaign for helping remodel the old town and restoration of the facades.
- Study of restoration and conditioning of the church and its surroundings.
- Improve public access for the elderly and the disabled.
- Study and improvements of the deficiencies in the urbanizations and the old town, such as the sewer system of calle la Mar.
- Improve the look of the main access to the village.
- Clean condition and create public parks and green areas for leisure purposes.
EDUCATION AND CULTURE
- Eliminate the prefabricated classrooms in the school.
- Creation of a Cultural Centre destined for a library, music school, adult education, concerts, theatre plays, meetings, cinema and other activities.
- Municipal revision to reinforce at all levels, primary and secondary, through an agreement of collaboration with the AMPA (Parents Association).
- Facilitate free translation services to the school from the Council to resident parents.
- Promote an IT grant to acquire computer equipment for schools.
- Promote student exchange programs with local residents of different nationalities.
- Free education for 0-3 year olds.
- Amplification and improvement of courses for adult education (FPA) and reduction of fees for adult education and music school.
SPORTS
- Management, administration and control of sport installations such as the swimming pool, football ground, sports centre …
- Restructuring program and improvement of the sports area of Les Fonts, reforming the unused padel and tennis courts and construction of other courts.
- Support associations and sport clubs to encourage sport activities as a leisure option. Endow the necessary resources to form teams for sports at a competitive level: football, indoor football, pelota valenciana, tennis, swimming, etc…
- Creation of sport schools to boost sports practice.
SUSTAINABILITY
- Promotion of energy saving and efficiency in the municipal installations and street lighting.
- Control of waste management in an attempt to reduce costs.
- Burial of refuse containers.
- Recycle awareness campaigns, revitalize the ECO-PARK and install oil collection.
- Oppose the agreements for the construction of a marina in our coasts.
- Revive and promote guides on interesting walks in various languages.
- Cleaning and preservation of existing paths to attract and improve their use.
- Cleaning and reformation of bus stops.
PUBLIC SAFETY
- Joint preparation with the local police of an integral plan for road safety for the town centre and urbanizations.
- Install a System of Housing Locator placed in our urbanizations so that the police, firebrigade, ambulance … can arrive as fast as possible reducing waiting time in case of emergency.
CITIZENS PARTICIPATION
- Create an Advisory Board with representatives of all the urbanizations of our area and the old town to be able to exchange ideas and thus coordinate between the different core populations and increase the speed of the solution of the problem.
- Establish the possibility of creating referendums between the citizens whose interest are in local politics.
- Creating the figure of an ombudsman.
- Reactivate and create platforms for public decision making: the Local Agenda 21, so that the citizens can participate in present and future decisions in our municipality.
COMMUNICATION
- Revitalize the web page of the Council where the citizens can participate in municipal operations, attend the plenary sessions in a virtual way from home and set up a news space that would give coverage to economic, cultural and sport activities and any local company.
- Using new technologies to speed up the communication between neighbors and the Council, through the use of opinion forums, facebook, twitter and web page.
- Elaboration of a project to give free internet service through the creation of an open wifi net.
